ABOUT ME
Hi, My name is Patrick Gibson.
I have just finished my bachelor's degree at Massey University in Wellington where I studied Visual Screen Arts, specialising in Cinematography. My love for film and photography came prior to finishing high school and everything that I have done over the past 6 years has been geared towards understanding and gaining experience in all levels of practical film from camera operating, editing, colour grading and gaffing. In addition to my studies, I worked in my spare time as a freelance cinematographer filming and photographing content for music artists, brands, events, gigs and festivals (Rhythm & Vines). Doing this alongside my studies allowed me to gain industry experience and add to what I was learning in my studies. My personal projects have allowed me to develop excellent technical knowledge of camera equipment and I want to work with people who share this interest to develop it further. My degree involved contributing to 8 short films in a range of roles which gave me hands-on experience in all aspects of film production. My attention to detail, appreciation for design, creativity, and work ethic are reflected in the outcomes of these films. I am keen, passionate, eager to learn, and am excited to now take the next step to start my career in the film industry.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY
I have been doing independent freelance work since 2018, which included filming and photographing more than 40 artists, 10 brands and short films. Over this time I have generated more than 600,000 views throughout various platforms and have had the opportunity to film at the Rhythm & Vines festival and Wellington O’Week. I really enjoy working in teams and enjoyed collaborating on films at Uni. I am looking forward to working with professionals so that I can further my skills.
